Vikings Cut Quarterback

Bloom, How many Vikings games have you watched lately, as T-Jack threw one big interception after another inside the red zone. These interceptions were returned for TD'S the other way, you know the momentum-killers, that leave fans shaking their heads in disbelief, saying -"did he just do that?"= remember the last playoff game against the Eagles? We should've won that game. He's had second and third chances in Minnesota, but has always come up choking. Back-up QB'S are back-ups for a reason. I remember one game when T-Jack's stats at halftime were 2 completions out of 7 attempts for 15 yards!! Tom Brady usually passes for 15 yards after the first 2 plays from scrimmage. As far as trading him for a high draft pick, the only way it would happen is if they used T-Jack in an offensive position other than quarterback. Out of the seven teams interested in him, five of them are currently losing teams, but hey, being a big Vikings fan, i hope some other team trades a great player to us, or gives us a high pick, just don't hold your breath on this deal.

The Fan’s Cecil Lammey says at least 7 teams consider Tarvaris Jackson an upgrade over their current backup QBs and would be interested if the Vikings release him (after signing Brett Favre): Bills, Bengals, Jaguars, Rams, Falcons, Saints, and 49ers.  Does this mean no team would offer anything in a trade?  Does this mean 25 NFL teams consider their backup QB better than Tarvaris?  Does this mean all 32 NFL teams consider their starting QB better than Tarvaris?  No wonder the Vikings need Favre!

The Vikings can get a second for T-Jack?  Who?  Pull the trigger.  That is what we traded up toget him when Chilly thought he was the second coming of McNabb.  The Vikings only gave up a 4th for Sage and he is now considered better than T-Jack.

Are you kiddin? T-Jack would automatically be one of the best backups in the leage, we could easily get a 3rd round pick for him maybe a 2nd

Dallas Dave, i agree to keep Sage and Booty when Favre signs, i think TJ has worn out his welcome in Minnesota, let's face it , he's another Kordell Stewart( a QB-wannabe). I think Booty may still become a good QB in this league in a couple of years, and Sage could be a pretty good back-up for Favre this year, that is when Favre signs the contract. As far as TJ, he'd be better off as a scat-back type of offensive player, after seeing him at QB for a few years, it was a rerun of Kordell's QB days in Pittsburgh.

i like booty. yeah, that too. but as the qb goes, booty is more uniform with the way the viking offense will operate under farve. sage is a great backup with starter ability. booty is a great project qb to work under those 2.  jackson is a different styled qb and not that acurate a passer. my guess is he gets traded for a draft pick.

Booty may be history -  unless they can get him thru to the practice squad.  Childress told Sage and T-Jack that they can’t know what’s going to happen because Favre doesn’t know and he doesn’t know.  Childress said “In the last couple seasons here, somewhere, somehow, the same thing I told Tavaris last year, ‘we’re going to need you.’  It would be a bad deal for you not to do anything over the summer.

That's weird that Chilly said that.  I saw an interview with Favre a few days ago when he was playin with the HS kids and he said it was still sore.

Important attributes of WCO QBs are accuracy and then velocity.  I heard T-Jack hit Jared Allen in the hip pad with a pass in OTAs.  Sage and Booty have better accuracy even though they lack T-Jack's velocity.  Of course, Favre has both.  This year should be fun!

WOW!!!  Childress told KFAN Radio host Dan Barreiro today that Favre is “pain free” and only needs to determine whether he has the endurance and stamina.

i havnt seen booty play except in pre season and then with the guys that are going to be cut in the morning!!!

i have to disagree, booty is unproven and has not thrown a pass ( i think) however this means he could be good where as jackson has proven to me he cannot be good.  therefore i would take the gamble and maintain optimism for booty.  i mean come on, what are the chances both will get injured anyway?

Count the Star Tribune's Judd Zulgad and Chip Hoggins among those who think T-Jack could go.  T-Jack's contract is due next year so it could be better to trade him now (even for a seventh round draft choice) before he starts demanding to start.  Sage should be the heir apparent to Favre while Booty has looked better in camp this year and thus has more upside potential than T-Jack.
