Legal Wanking

Judge Larson has ruled that Pat and Kevin Williams can play while their lawsuit against the NFL over the StarCaps mess wends its way through the legal maze.  The NFL has already responded, rather strongly:

Today’s decision, which effectively exempts two players from the NFL-NFLPA collectively bargained program, further illustrates the critical importance of a uniform policy for all teams in the league and why this matter should be governed exclusively by federal law. The Court’s interim decision regarding the suspensions has no immediate practical impact since the suspensions will not take effect until the beginning of the regular season in September. In the meantime, our appeal to the United States Court of Appeals, which argues that the players’ state claims are barred by the Collective Bargaining Agreement, should be resolved before the start of the season.

In other words, we should know by Week 1 whether Pat and Kevin will have to serve their four game suspension.  It would suck righteously if the thing somehow dragged into the season, leaving a dark cloud hanging over the Williams Wall and the entire team.  I almost wish they’d just served the damn thing last season and been done with it.  But then we might not have made the playoffs, I guess.

Amazing Dunzinski didn’t try to blame Favre for this also.

    Your funny Mike !!! lol

Have you heard the saying one man’s trash is another man’s treasure?  Did you know Gus Frerotte, the Viking’s winningest QB last year, hasn’t been able to sign with any NFL team this year?  When it comes to Vikings QBs, it appears their trash is the league’s garbage.  Please Brett, sign!

What the hell do any of these comments have to do with the story?  They’re guilty.  Suspend them!!  We lose four games and that puts us closer to getting rid of Childress.

  • Mike

Bob has already decided they are guilty before the trial.  The Williams Wall has a good case under state law.  Let’s just wait for the legal system to decide.  Until then we can talk about our problems at QB.

  • All Day 28

Bob G if you think that even without the Williams Wall in the first 4 games that we will lose, you must be smoking some great stuff there. Have you not taken a peek at our schedule this year ??? We start out going to play the Browns then we go to SanFran, then have Detroit and Greenbay at home. at worst we will be 3 and 1

Bob just wants the Vikings to have a bad year.  Whatever the motive, that’s what he wants.  = his opinion means nothing.
