Favre Drama Probably Won’t End This Week
Predictions that Brett Favre would sign with the Vikings ahead of July 20, the first day 2009 single-game tickets are available to the public, appear destined to go down in flames, just like most of our other guesses about the Favre drama. Now it looks likely that Favre will still not be signed by the 29th, the day the Vikings begin reporting for training camp.
And what exactly is the hold-up? Apparently Brett is still not sure about his arm, which has reportedly been sore. Or maybe Brett just wants extra time to say goodbye to his lawn mowers. That’s always emotional.
There’s only one thing I know for sure: trying to guess what’s going on in Brett Favre’s head is never a great move.

“trying to guess what’s going on in Brett Favre’s head is never a great move” Uh … it’s only hard for twits like you, who are determined to not figure it out so you can keep posting stupid crap (like htat post yesterday mocking him for being at a FUNERAL … ugh, new low for even you)
He said on Joe Buck: “You can’t go past the arm – if that is not up to par when the time comes then I can’t play. I went through it last year and it affected me and the team. I won’t do that again.”
He said at the end of June, when throwing balls at the high school: “I threw the ball OK, but OK isn’t good enough in the National Football League”
And then: “I went through it last year, and yeah I gutted it out or whatever,” he said. “But it affected me and our team, and I don’t to do that again. I won’t do that again.”
He supposedly said to Bevell last week that he still has pain & some concerns about accuracy. The healing is not done yeat (as his doctor said would be the case)
You’ve had over a month to figure this simple fact out, that he’s waiting to see how it heals. Really, how hard can this be for you to figure out?
July 13th, 2009 at 9:13 amThe link seems to suggest Favre will be signed just before July 29, the day the Vikings begin reporting for training camp. It concludes Favre is probably trying to avoid the Paparazzi as long as he can. He is probably trying to avoid insensitive reporters like Dunzinski the Franophile. If you would just cut the smart-ass remarks…….
July 13th, 2009 at 9:32 amThis story will linger today and tomorrow, then he’ll sign on Wed or Thursday before single game tickets go on sale.
July 13th, 2009 at 10:20 amVikingUpdate.com says “Those who were expecting an announcement of the Favre signing this week will apparently have to wait a little longer while he makes up his mind, but all indications are that, despite some slight pain following the throwing session, Favre will be heading back to the NFC North with the Vikings.”
July 13th, 2009 at 11:07 amESPN’s Ed Werder says Favre will let the Vikings know in a week so they can prepare for training camp. He also said Favre will be disappointed if can’t play since he did so much to get ready. Skip Bayless still thinks he won’t play.
July 13th, 2009 at 12:33 pmwhy does skip bayless still think he won’t play, what are his reasons? I haven’t much about skip. I’ve been visiting this site for a while now and I love everyone views especially especially mikes so i’ve got to ask you mike that do you think brett will end up doing? playing or not this season?
July 13th, 2009 at 3:53 pmPoor Skip always has to go contrary.
July 13th, 2009 at 3:55 pmBrett will play and award Viking fans with their first Super Bowl win before the team is moved to LA.
July 13th, 2009 at 4:02 pmAwwww Dallas Dave, have you heard the news?

July 13th, 2009 at 5:27 pmI think its 90% Favre plays. I dont see him backinjg out after months of preperation. He NEVER gets surgery,a nd he did just that. He was unhappy to be traded to a suck ass team in the Jets and he sucked it up, said the right things and went out and gave it his all (did pretty well i might add).
July 13th, 2009 at 6:48 pmThis is the team he wanted to go to all along after Thompson ran him out of town, not to mention a LOADED offense and a system he knows blind folded. The fact that he knows the coaching staff well is the icing on the cakeaaaaaaa along with the fact they compete in the NFC North puts Favre in a Viking uniform… no later than July 23rd…
hey thanks for the info jim. but for all you guys that think romo is a homo, don’t worry there boyce; cause my man tonyo will find some more twang better than that even………wow!
July 13th, 2009 at 7:26 pmI don’t think he’s homo, probably bi.
July 13th, 2009 at 8:01 pmbi-lingual????
July 13th, 2009 at 8:19 pmNo bifacial (two-faced)
July 13th, 2009 at 10:16 pmDale, Skip Bayless thinks Favre has too many heath issues, especially the shoulder problem to play this year. I am torn between Favre (1) really having more trouble with his arm that he is willing to play with but still hoping it will heal in the next two weeks and (2) faking it to get out of everything before training camp. I find it strange that he got the operation 8 weeks before training camp, which is the maximum healing time. I also don’t understand why Childress said he was pain free a week or two ago and now Favre says he has some pain. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was faking it because he faked retirement to get out of OTAs when he was with Green Bay. He wants to minimize the media circus.
July 13th, 2009 at 10:16 pmDo we have confirmations on if Werder’s anonymous source was in fact a real person, and not a leprechaun?
July 14th, 2009 at 12:38 amBob Sansevere of the Pioneer Press explains his view of Brett Favre’s need to delay a decision on whether to play until just before training camp as “Of course Favre is going to say something like that. If he committed now, he would have to cut short his summer. He’ll string this out as long as he can.”
July 14th, 2009 at 9:00 amHey Dallas Dave, what in the hell definition of “twang” are you talking about?:
1 an act of plucking? Tony Homo will pluck his eyebrows?
2 the characteristic speech of a region, locality, or group of people? He will talk like some backward redneck southerner?
3 a nasal speech? He will sing like some irritating Texas country western singer?
Before he does any of these, please tell me, so I can leave.
Are you confusing twang with twat? If so, you don’t have much respect for women. Then, you are OK by me. But your big bad dominating wife is going to kill your little p***ywhipped a**!!!
July 14th, 2009 at 11:31 amCharley Waters of the Pioneer Press says ”Favre wants to make sure his arm is fine before signing, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the holdup is (his agent Bus) Cook seeking more guarantees than incentives.”
July 14th, 2009 at 4:35 pmToday on ESPN’s NFL Live, they sure talked like Berrian would be catching passes from Favre.
July 14th, 2009 at 4:41 pmDefenses must pick their poison either Peterson or Favre:

July 14th, 2009 at 4:53 pmMerrel Hoge had Percy Harvin as bust of the year (at least for this year). Favre needs a healthy Sidney Rice.
July 15th, 2009 at 8:23 ami have heard that word before; apparently it is a cross between twat and pootang?????thus the word twang. it covers a more vast variety? meaning tonyo will have his choice. he’s the qb of the dallas cowboys for pete’s sake.
July 15th, 2009 at 11:44 amalso the word boyce is a slang for boysssss. man i can’t wait for football season if this is all we can talk about?
July 15th, 2009 at 11:46 amoh yeahh, twang twang twang……..i’m also running with scissors!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh, i’m a bad boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 15th, 2009 at 12:07 pmi’ve got a great idea; speaking of words or names, how about a readers polls? poll one; the most interesting words in football? my choice is encroachmment………..poll two; the most interesting name of football; 2 come to mind. johnny blood and via-secka heema.???? got some of your own? hey somebody set this poll up here?…………. poll three; which qbs were the most twang chasers in the nfl( besides joe namath; come on that’s just too easy) ………….this could be fun
