Thu, 18 Apr 2013 18:02:53 +0000 hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.4.1 http://thevikingage.com/2009/07/23/brett-favre-wavering/comment-page-2/#comment-3977 Susan Tue, 04 Aug 2009 02:53:05 +0000 http://thevikingage.com/?p=2440#comment-3977 I doubt that any of you folks will read this, given your disappointment that Brett didn't sign with the Vikings.  I'm disappointed, too.  I wanted very much to see him play another year and do well, get another Super Bowl ring and shove it in Ted Thompson's face.  I had no idea Brett was having a problem with his left knee (I do remember one knee injury he had at Lambeau Field...he thought his career was over and covered his head with a towel as the cart took him to the lockerroom).  The ankle thing totally caught me off guard..."feels like I'm walking on glass."  I know he's had one minor surgical procedure on each ankle in the past to take out bone chips, but he never complained afterwards.  I guess he finally had to admit that his body IS turning against him and paying him back for all the physical abuse since he was in grade school.  Still, I have to wonder, after he's had a chance to let things cool down (his knee and ankles, I mean), if he gets a call from Childress that their QB is down and they need him, what would he say?  By November, I'd be afraid he'd lost his edge, stopped working out as much, etc., and wouldn't be able to help the team the way he could have in September.  But it doesn't pay to speculate; last I heard, they went on vacation the very night he announced his decision, and I doubt there'll be many reporters (if any) hanging around Hattiesburg when they get back.  Again, guys, I'm so sorry for everyone that things didn't work out.  I thought I knew Brett pretty darn well after all these years, but he totally shocked me this time.
