From the beard to the mullet to the hats made out of dead animals, Jared Allen is all about fashion statements. Perhaps his greatest was made at this year’s ESPYs, when he dressed in honor of a certain ’70s movie icon. Jared explained the whole thing in an interview with a Kansas City radio station:
It was great. Me and Boomer were out last minute trying to find Dumb and Dumber tuxedos and we were going to cane sword fight down the red carpet. I thought that might bring a little class to the event. I thought “you know what, I’m in LA, might as well go with my Burt Reynolds replica jump suit from the original Longest Yard,” you know the opening scene where the girl is throwing him out of the house, and lets trash up the carpet a bit ya know? Lets bring the mullet back in full effect. It was pretty cool.
Oh, that’s more than pretty cool Jared. That’s, like, the coolest thing anyone has ever done in the history of doing things. Just to have a Burt Reynolds replica jumpsuit is awesome enough – but to wear it in front of thousands of people? That takes a certain special kind of radness.
