Now that the summer’s nonsense is out of the way, it’s back to sane, regular football business for the Vikings. This includes locking up first-round draft picks, a process that got 50% closer to completion Wednesday when the team announced the signing of right tackle Phil Loadholt, terms not disclosed.
Loadholt, a behemoth out of Oklahoma, is expected to take hold of the starting right tackle position, giving the Vikings massive bookend blockers (provided Bryant McKinnie doesn’t go funny in the head between now and the start of the season). Of course there’s always the chance Loadholt could flop, forcing us to endure another season of Ryan Cook aka The Human False Start.
Percy Harvin is the only draft pick the Vikings have yet to sign. I’m assuming he will get taken care of presently; I’m sure the Vikes want him in camp so they can begin working on those awesome Wildcat plays they’re going to spice up the KAO with.
