Mission Accomplished for Bobby Wade

Bobby Wade was not simply making idle chit-chat when he revealed Brian Urlacher‘s feelings about Jay Cutler – he was deliberately trying to stir things up.  And he succeeded.  I know because, two days out from the whole affair, stories are still being posted about how it’s not a big deal, and everything’s fine between Urlacher and Cutler, and Bobby Wade is just a lying idiot who is going to get hit in the face somewhere down the road.

Of course I’m not suggesting this is a big distraction for the Bears or anything; I’m just saying I think it’s hilarious that Wade can make some remark on the radio and the ripples can still be propagating outward 48 hours after the fact.  Ain’t the media great?

Jay Cutler probably doesn’t think so.

But Jay has put on his happy face anyway.  “There’s nothing between [Urlacher and me],” Cutler told reporters soon after he reported to camp.  “I just want to put that to rest. There never has been anything between us.”

Let’s see how long Happy Face Cutler lasts in Chicago.  Cause he didn’t last long in Denver.

hey he may think it’s cute now, but if he’s gonna play the slot for the vikes, and you gotta play urlacher twice????? hey you better laugh now while you can, cause later it ain’t gonna be pretty?

  • Mike

Perhaps, Bobby knows Percy will be in the slot against the Bears.  Why do those names Bobby and Percy sound pussy?  Why not Bob or Robert?

  • Chuck

Anybody heard at news on Percy signing yet???

  • Mike

Childress is in big trouble with Harvin.  As everyone said high reward but very high risk.  So far the guy hasn’t shown up for nothin.  Now he thinks he can blackmail Childress for more money.  He thinks Childress needs to win this year and doesn’t have a decent QB, so he must make up for it with receivers that can carry the load.  Harvin is looking to arrive late to camp, so any chance of working him in as a rookie receiver goes out the window.  I say the guy is not dependable – just stick him in on kick returns whenever he does show up.  And when each of his risks – character, intelligence and injury – come to fruition just stick in another returner and don’t lose a beat on offense.

Vikings’ training camp sounds like Pop Warner.  Tarvaris Jackson took the initial snaps with the first team and looked more comfortable than Sage operating the offense.  Jackson said “I couldn’t throw a spiral for nothing today; I have to work on that.”  Childress admitted Jackson has “some pretty good calluses built up” when it comes to handling internal and external criticism given what Jackson has been through during his time in Minnesota.  Well, if you to camp unable to throw a spiral, you should expect a lot more criticism.  Brett!!!!!!!!

  • Mike

AD came to camp at 220 pounds.  Maybe he should have gained the weight after all, if there is no one to pull defenders out of the box.  He isn’t planning on Favre, and T-Joke couldn’t even throw a spiral let alone hit a receiver with an accurate laser in stride.  AD thinks Harvin will demand defenders but Harvin needs a decent QB and is completely undependable anyway.  Breeeettttt!!!!

  • Mike

Don’t the Vikings QBs look like what the hell am I doing here???

Vikings fans can now only pray for Favre.  NFL.com writes “The starting quarterback job was again his to seize, but Taravris Jackson didn’t exactly jump for joy.  Brett Favre’s decision to remain retired rocked the Minnesota Vikings and returned the competition to Jackson and Sage Roenfels, but when his buddies checked in with him after hearing the news earlier this week Jackson surprised them with his lack of excitement.  “I use every little thing I can to try to motivate myself,” he said, referring to the Favre back-and-forth. Jackson played with the first team while the Vikings worked out in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts Friday morning at the Minnesota State University campus in Mankato. There were several off-the-mark throws throughout the session by all of the quarterbacks.
Jackson probably had the best pass of the morning during a one-on-one drill.  For now, until or unless the Vikings start an early season winning streak and settle in at the top of the NFC North, this is how it will be in the wake of Favre’s decision to stay home. Every throw will be scrutinized, and Minnesota’s passing game will constantly be watched — probably more so than in Childress’s first three seasons.  After Friday’s first practice, Rosenfels bristled a bit during another round of Favre-related queries from reporters.
“The more you guys stop asking questions,” he said, “the less I’ll have to even worry about it.”  Now it’s up to Jackson or Rosenfels to take the job and prove they’re worthy of that support.  PLEASE SAVE US Bbbbbbbbrrrrrreeeeeeettttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!

Favre said he would come to the Vikings if they had an injury:

Vikes QB Jackson hurt during scrimmage
MANKATO, Minn. — Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson left the field on Saturday morning with an apparent leg injury.  Jackson was injured during a team scrimmage when defensive lineman LeTroy Guion fell at his feet and rolled over his leg. Jackson crumbled to the field in pain as trainers rushed to his side. After a few minutes, he was able to get up and walk off under his own power.  There was no immediate word on the nature of his injury.  Jackson is in a battle with Sage Rosenfels for the starting quarterback position after Brett Favre decided not to come out of retirement and join the Vikings.

  • Mike

I can’t stand even following the Vikings anymore.  Somebody wake me up when they drag Favre’s sorry old a– into camp.

  • xpackerfan

I sent Bus Cook a short email, asking him to get the Viking contract done, behind Brett 100%.  Next day, suckie news, opps.

Brett “retired”, from the Packers not to be their back-up QB (sick), nor their merchandizing pupet.  Jets was the division option, part of “retirement” clause, so his first and only choice to play for the Vikings, could not happen.  Hmmmmm Packers don’t want Brett, but too good to play against him, intersting.  So Brett “retires” from the Jets, to join the team he wanted, VIKINGS.  He has surgery, works out, pratcing, I’m not reading  really “retiring” in all this, are you?  Brett knows what his capabilities are , so insted of camp,  four pre-season games, he’s signed later for the duration to play the extra play off games, and the Super Bowl.  What would you rather have, a good start, or cross the finish line with the Lombardi trophey in hand.  Not just about Brett,  the Vikings have a superior team, he knows it, why else has he been doing what he’s doing.

For the Viking fans, that said they could never root for a chessehead, when he suits up in purple, he’s a Viking.  Be sure to post in 2010!

Got over my day of doubt, activated brain, just as dumb as the saying, “Its not whether you win or lose, its how you play the game”, is just plain stupid.

Hi Mike, please keep this sight going,  still check it just not daily.  I have a date in mind, it will be extremely active.  Anyone want to pick a date and make a bet?

  • xpackerfan

Too vauge, I say Sept. 4th. bet with an angle.

  • xpackerfan

    YES, I know, angle…hook & line, dah.

  • http://landryhat davedallasfan

and yes we have put them on call…….they called us out, and we’ve called back. i’m not a viking fan, but i know farve will play for them this year. i believe that. i base my belief on strong facts, reports, and the inevetable situation that it is a perfect fit for brett to somehow extend his immortality. that is money in the bank for everyone including farve himself. good business says when you see a business oportunity like that, you sieze it. they don’t line up like that very often. ziggy is one hell of a good business man. i don’t see him letting this one get away either. and i don’t see chilly getting in the way of this money oportunity either. cause if chilly does’nt work out you replace him. but when will you ever get a financial situation like brett farev to come around again?????????????think about it people. zigg gets this thing done, or he’ll be makin plans to move down the road. i’m not a genious, but you don’t have to be to figure this one out.

DAVE  DALLAS FAN – Could you consider stepping up, become a Viking fan, or just voice your opinion.  Hey, just asked, has to be a reason why your here.  Okay, love to say more, but soooo into Chardonnay, had a heck of a time with my cork screw in the box, am I not hillarious or what?!    Then, delete, must say nite…later.

MIKE – Farve has never changed his mind, just delayed the date.   Say cheese, no clue why I added that, might be the GB still in me…opps. Nope two things in my life I will NEVER do, wear cheese on my head, nor bowling shoes on my feet… Jimmy Choo kind.  NITE

  • xpackerfan

DaveDallas, will read again tomorrow, if its in brail, I might comment on all thoes question marks.

  • lorenzo4

Hmmm. Not the same thing. Even if the Pack (tho I have a real hard time imagining this) should bring on Vick…it won’t be for the starting position. Pack need a good backup and added wildcat threat. I don’t think Favre was interested in that role (actually wouldn’t be a bit surprised if MM and powers that be didn’t end up actually offering Favre the backup position at 1 AM at Lambeau last spring….Favre probably told them to GFT whereupon the next day he was accused of having the “wrong mindset.”)

  • Chuckie

If you don’t think we need a upgrade at QB then you’ve been smoking something highly illegal. Coaches can only put the plan in place, PLAYERS have to EXACUTE it. Tavaris is football dumb. Can’t read a defense or make decisions fast enough. Most QB’s that have went on to be great are pretty much great from the first time they step on the field. I.E Payton Manning, John Elway, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Tom Brady, Steve Young to name a few. Even Kurt Warner had the “it” factor the minute he stepped on the field. I heard all this crap of ….oh just give him time and ….oh wait til he gets better WR’s….ect ….ect… with guys like Steve McNair, Kordell Stewart, and Daunte Culpepper. If you want to wait until Tavaris dumb ass Jackson figures it out, you’ll be waiting til the end of time. It won’t happen.
Now, Sage might have a chance to be an ok starting QB. His track record as a starter is a least ok. Jury is still out a bit on him. But I’ve seen enough of Tavaris horrible mechanics and poor decision making to know he will NEVER be a good NFL QB. Just another in a long long line of great athletes who just don’t get “it.”

xpackerfan, i have said this many times before. i live in n.iowa. i’m 2 1/2 hrs away from minneapolis. my business carries me into minneapolis and i make a good income from sports revenue. i fthe vikings leave i take a hell of a hit business wise. my uncle, vikeman is “the biggest viking fan of them all.” he is also a businessman that makes revenue from the sports trade. so we as a family would love to see the vikings stay and prosper. this in a sense does make me a viking fan to say, but my love is for the cowboys, since ’70. i just think that people here in this area have suffered the toll when it comes to viking football over the past 40 years. my friends and family are all big sports enthuesiests, so we follow the vikes in n. iowa. i do go to several viking games every year because my uncle is a season ticket holder and has inside connections with people in the viking organization. good seats are always there, so i go? thats it.

  • http://landryhat davedallasfan
