Seifert: "Suspicious Amount of Secrecy" Surrounding Tarvaris Jackson Injury

Are the Vikings more worried about Tarvaris Jackson‘s MCL sprain than they’re letting on?  Kevin Seifert thinks there’s something at least a little fishy, as he expressed in this tweet:

Suspicious amount of secrecy for what is a supposed to be a mild injury, but no evidence T-Jack is hurt worse than original report.

The injury is said to be a grade 1 sprain, which is the least serious.

According to Access Vikings, Tarvaris spent Monday working on a stationary bike and doing some running, then stood around watching practice.  With a brace on.  And no word yet from the Vikes on when he will return.

You know what I think?  Less work for Tarvaris means more for Sage Rosenfels, who was always going to win the starting job anyway.  And it means more reps for John David Booty who might wind up being the back-up quarterback before all is said and done.

If Tarvaris stays on the shelf long enough, even Percy Harvin, who got snaps as a Wildcat QB during OTAs, might pass him on the depth chart.  And that would be just fine with me.  I’ve seen all of T-Jack I ever need to see.  No, I’m not happy that he’s hurt – I just don’t care if he ever plays again.

The fact your saying that Sage would have won the starting job regardless shows your ignorance, Tarvaris is a much better QB and has alot more knowledge of the Offense and he made Sage look like a 3rd string QB before his injury. People forget the fact that Tarvaris came back in and went 9-2(td-int ratio) and managed games alot better than Ferrotte, he did have a horrible game in his FIRST EVER playoff game, like plenty of other QBs have done in the past. If Tarvaris is not the started this year, we might aswell throw in the towel early. Ive watched alot of video of Sage and he just isnt gonna cut it in Minnesota.

    Pioneer Press,
Sage Rosenfel’s impresses during afternoon practice,  Tarvaris should look good , He has been in the System for 4 years, Will have to see  how they compare at the start of the season…

Eric, you must have only watched the Arizona Cardinal game last season, because that was the only game in 4 years that i’d seen T-Jack play well. Of course he was helped by 3 turnovers in a row by the Cards, all deep inside their own territory to boot, but i’ll give him this game, that he actually resembled an NFL QB for the first time. Like i said before, he’s a carbon copy of Kordell Stewart, the former Steeler QB, whose  fans, similar to Vikings fans with T-Jack, got tired of the wobbly short passes that were consistently off the mark, and the interceptions returned for TD’S. Let’s face it, if Favre does’nt sign, we’re doomed, that is unless some other big named QB comes around, but right now things look gloomy.

I’m with Danzinski again. Get off of the Favre thing guys. It AINT gonna happen.

And if it does now, we will all regret it. You’ve heard the locker room: They don’t want him.

Now (not before) he actually will tear the team unity apart. They need to move on with Sage. In Sage We Trust.

And I agree with Danzinski here too, I hate to see anyone go down to injury. (Aside from Gosder Cherilus. I hope someone blows his knees up like he tried to blow Jared Allen’s. Allen is a MAN Gosder, FUCK YOU!) But, I am glad that Tarvaris won’t even be a consideration for starter at this point. He’s lost way too much ground. The guy is just not the answer. Period. And due to the injury, Childress gets to say that he tried, but it just didn’t work out.

    Love it.

    SUPERBOWL 09-10!

Jeege, I have myself given up on Favre and am hopeful that Sage could have a break out season. Some other guys are still hopeful that Favre will somehow change his mind and rescue the Vikings. I don’t blame them for not losing hope, the reason being is that  we’re left with 2 unproven backup QB’S, and when we have all this talent in the other key positions, you gotta wonder why we did’nt try to upgrade the QB spot. A lot of fans are still caught up in this dilema, should we still hold out hope that Favre will change his mind, or move on and put all our eggs in Sage’s basket? I have nothing against T-Jack, but i believe he’s worn out his welcome. Yeah, i know some QB’S take longer to adjust in the NFL, but how many more years can the Vikings fans be patient? This is the main reason that the Favre talk is not going away anytime soon, because of all the years of frustration the fans have had to endure. Until Sage actually gets in the games and proves himself to be a viable and consistent starting QB, he’s going to be a tough sell to the fans, but i’m all for giving the guy a fair chance.
