Stop it, Please

This is the kind of stuff that drives me crazy.  Tarvaris Jackson gets hurt, so ESPN rolls out the, “When Will the Vikings Call Michael Vick?” bit.  How about never?  Not even if all three of their quarterbacks went down and had to be euthanized on the field like race horses.  Vick will not be a Viking.  He isn’t a West Coast QB.  They already have their Wildcat guy in Percy Harvin.  They don’t want controversy.  What parts of these sentences do the ESPN drones not understand?

Vick is a liar and a cancer. Let him kill some other team.

DailyNorseman has a great piece on Childress’ willingness to stick with Sage during this time that Jackson is down and out:

I love that he’s giving Rosenfel’s his due opportunity. Go win the starting role, Sage!

I was thinking the other day how the Vikings passing game is predicated on short, accurate routes. Granted, we don’t have anyone on the roster that can currently do that anyway, but could imagine the nightmare that would be Vick trying to make those passes? Holy crap. He’d be sailing them wider than Tarvaris. I don’t know where these ESPN clowns get this crap from…

Vick is a terrible fit for us…for most teams really. And all ESPN is interested in is ratings any more. They have ceased to be a viable entity in news reporting/discussion as far as I’m concerned. (all due respect to what they’ve done for football)

The only thing left worth watching any more is their sunday morning football coverage…and I’m sure they’ll find a way to botch that the hell up this year too.

Amen!!  Vick was never a good QB.

Paul, Vick was never a good QB, but he was blessed with incredible athletic talent that drove defenses nuts. Unfortunately, he chose to damage his character and career by pursuing illegal activity in dog fighting. He is worthy of a second chance after he did his time, but not many teams, if any, are in a big rush to sign him. I do think he is better than T-Jack, but the dark cloud still hangs over him, and i’d really be surprised if the Vikes take a chance on him, as Coach Childress has always instilled  the character issue in his players.

Mike, i totally agree with your QB analogy. We need a passer, not a runner and Vick  would keep the defenses all up on the line of scrimmage. Whether it be Favre or someone else, our QB has got to have a good and consistent throwing arm, heck we got a great receiving tandem. I ‘ve pretty much given up hope that Favre will ever be a Viking, but i’ve been wrong many times before.
