Goodbye Aundrae Allison

Drew Rosenhaus has used his Twitter account to inform us that his client Aundrae Allison will no longer be a member of the Minnesota Vikings.  The team is seeking to trade the little-used wide receiver, a 2007 fifth-round pick out of East Carolina, and will release him if there are no takers by 5 pm this evening.

So the receiver depth chart now looks like this:

  • Bernard Berrian
  • Percy Harvin
  • Bobby Wade
  • Sidney Rice
  • Darius Reynaud
  • Jaymar Johnson
  • Glenn Holt

Allison, Reynaud, Johnson and Holt are all basically the same guy, so the Vikings have reduced some of their redundancy.  I really can’t see any team coughing up a draft pick for Allison so perhaps there could be an equipment swap?  Allison for some jock straps perhaps.  Or, more likely, he will just be cut, leaving him free to pursue a UFL career.

    jaymar is a nice receiver and a childress project…he’ll win out if only because the only news that Glen Holt or Darius Reynaud have had this camp is as follows:

    Reynaud got LAID OUT by rookie safety Jamarca Sanford.

    @Mike

    I doubt that they would carry only 5 WR…that doesn’t leave very much room for back-ups.

    I really want to see Glenn Holt returning punts/kicks.
