Dave, that's the way i look at it, that is when Denver won it's first SuperBowl, it made them forget about the other 4 losses. That's why it would've been great to bring Favre in here, all the excitement of a big-named QB to lead a talent-laced Viking's team to the first SuperBowl win, and make us fans forget the agony of 4 losses and all those playoff misfortunes over the years. Denver's second Super Bowl win really got their fans believing that they really were a winning team all those years, they just needed that first one to get over the hump. It's almost like trying to bowl a 300 game, you get ever so close and fail time and time again, but once you do it , it's like the pressure is gone forever. We need that first one, same with the Buffalo Bills, they're in the same boat as we are.

this is the reason i like to be on this blog. it takes me back to the glory years for me and my time with the nfl. those were the days of great coaches, great players, who did it for the love of the game. before the big business aspect took over the game. the games that were played in the old met. in that piss poor field that was a swamp in that enzone where nate wright slipped down in. that will never be here again. those presious memories, good, bad, and even ugly at times. they're gone. now we try to enjoy this modern game that we see. the new nfl promoters tell us the game is better, more sufisticated. better officiated. more hype and drama. big,BIG, AND BIGGER.....but not always better. and certainly we will always remember. bernie enjoy all those wonderful memories of you and your brother. he lives on that way. as i will always cherish those of my times with vikeman. someday those will be gone too. but he's a legend that will live on, at least to me anyway. good to reminisse for a while, please forgive me for rambling, i'm just a young feeling old guy that longs for good times again, always.
