Brett Favre Press Conference: Re-Live the Magic

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: 16 Comments

Am I the only one who teared up when he started talking about his daughter wanting him to win one more Super Bowl? No, I didn’t tear up because I was touched…I teared up because hitting your head against the wall over and over again really hurts. You won’t ever convince me that Chilly just called him out of the blue on Monday and they whipped this thing together. I stand by my assertion that it was planned this way all along. We were played. The other players were played. The media were played.

Rosenfels, T-Jack Not Happy Campers

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Vikings have a couple of really ticked-off back-up quarterbacks right now.  And they’re not trying all that hard to hide their irritation. “It’s something that wasn’t a total shock,” Sage Rosenfels said when asked about the Favre deal.  “Obviously this has been three months in the ongoing sort of thing. So for me personally this wasn’t what I was hoping for. I tried to get traded here and got traded here.” Sage then made the usual remarks about staying ready if the team needs him, going out with the right attitude, blah blah…and then he was asked if he [...]

Favre the Teacher

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Brett Favre has been with the Vikings less than a day, and he’s already making a difference with the younger players. “He’s helped me out already,” Percy Harvin said after his first practice experience with Favre at QB. “There was one play when I ran an out (route)…we hooked up but there were some little things he gave me to make the route better or to help recognize the defense.” And then Percy told Brett that his shoulder was bothering him, and Brett secreted some healing ointment and rubbed it into the area, clearing up the pain. Maybe he is [...]

Peter King Rips the Vikings

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: 10 Comments

Peter King thinks the Vikings have screwed the pooch: You would think I think this Brett Favre-to-Minnesota story is great, but I don’t. I think it’s wrong. I think it’s a circus. And I think Minnesota coach Brad Childress is making a mistake. If I were Childress, I’d have waited until Sage Rosenfels struggled — if he struggled — and then made the call to Favre. By doing it now, Childress loses Rosenfels and Tarvaris Jackson; how can they ever trust anything he says now? I’m sure both are furious, and Rosenfels, particularly, is crushed. And the way Favre talked [...]

Minnesota Vikings Announce Signing of Brett Favre

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News, Vikings | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Via Vikings.com: The Minnesota Vikings have signed three-time NFL MVP Brett Favre, the team announced today. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. “We believe adding a player such as Brett Favre to our mix will be a strong positive for this football team,” said Head Coach Brad Childress. “As we have conveyed before, his unique knowledge of our system, the NFC North and his innate skills make this a rare opportunity. We felt there was a brief window to reconsider the possibility and we owed it to the organization to evaluate our options. After thorough discussion, the same variables [...]

Brett Favre Will Sign With the Vikings

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News, Vikings | COMMENTS: 41 Comments

The Star-Tribune confirms that Brett Favre will sign with the Vikings and may be on the practice field as early as this afternoon.  After all was said and done, only Jay Glazer knew anything.  Jay Glazer is now the god of football insiders. Update: Favre is flying in as we speak.  Bus Cook says only the physical stands between him and the signing.  Gosh, would suck if he failed the physical, eh? I can almost hear the girlish squealing of all the Favreophiles, who now feel vindicated.  Well, you’re not vindicated people.  He could still suck. Update #2:  What happened [...]

Brett Favre is Coming to the Vikings

AUTHOR: | IN: Rumors, Vikings | COMMENTS: 11 Comments

Everyone already knows about the Jay Glazer report from FOXSports.com that Brett Favre is coming to the Vikings according to unnamed players on the team who Glazer spoke to when he visited camp, including one player who said, “I don’t know if it’s done, but I think he’ll be in by the third preseason game.”  Third preseason game!  Hear that everyone?  Brett Favre is coming to the Vikings! I don’t have to tell you what this means for the Purple and Gold.  Finally they will have a real quarterback with the skills and talents to lead the offense.  Imagine Brett [...]

Not saying anything about this.  Just posting the link.  You can do with it what you will.  Me, I think it’s Mr. Glazer going on a little fishing trip.
