Bernard Berrian is one of the handful of Vikes who tweet on a regular basis (Visanthe Shiancoe is another, but I’m not allowed to follow him anymore after he blocked me for sending him wise-ass remarks about towels).
Bernard, or B_Twice as he calls himself on Twitter, enjoys tweeting so much that he would like to do it just before and after, and perhaps during, games. But the NFL doesn’t want its employees or employees of its teams engaging in that kind of activity. And that policy has B_Twice up-in-arms.
NFL passes rule that we can’t twitter 90 mins prior to a game and I think 90mins after. But aint twitter a form of speech?? Thought I had the right to freedom of speech
Sure Bernard, you have a right to freedom of speech, unless of course you sign a contract that requires you to represent your team/league in a way they deem appropriate. In other words, if they tell you to shut up, you shut up. If they tell you not to tweet 90 minutes before a game, you don’t tweet 90 minutes before a game.
If you don’t like it, you can sue them. That’s the American way.
What I really want to know is, what was Bernard planning to tweet about in that window before and after games? “In the locker room. Getting pumped. Visanthe’s penis looks even bigger this year.” Spare us.
