Bobby Wade has ducked the axe and will remain a Viking. The receiver reportedly agreed to slash his 2009 salary from $3 million to $1.5 million, making it easier for the Vikings to justify retaining him.
Clearly, with Percy Harvin in the fold, Wade is going to be less of a factor in the offense. But who knows? Maybe Brett will decide he likes Wade and wants him on the field. Whatever Brett wants, Brett gets.

He obviously saw the axe coming. And he shortened his contract to make 2009 his last year. He's a free agent next year. Seems like the writing is on the wall, but it's a classy move by the org. to retain their leading receivers services another year even though he's no longer in the long term plans.
