Good on the Scoreboard, Otherwise…

Guess we shouldn’t complain – the Vikings lead 17-3 at the half against the allegedly hideous Rams.  However, I don’t think the Vikings are too happy about the way they played the first two quarters.  Outside of a crisp opening drive the offense has been spotty.  And the defense…yes they’ve gotten credit for forcing 3 turnovers, but two of those were actually unforced, and the Rams have gained 220 yards, 73 on the ground.

Basically, were it not for the Rams’ three turnovers, the Vikings would be in big trouble.

We need to see tighter defense and more Adrian Peterson in the second half.  And I don’t mean Adrian Peterson for negative 2 or Adrian Peterson for a hard-fought 3.  I mean Adrian Peterson making people look like fools on the way to an 80-yard TD run.  AD hasn’t been AD since Week 2.  Right now he’s not close to the best player in the league.

AP is still great, defenses can shut him down if they want to, but at a cost. They stop him to let Brett Favre beat them. Only two backs were unstoppable with 8 man fronts Jim Brown and Barry Sanders. Sanders somehow did it with no line and no fullback.
