Video: Percy Harvin Kick-Off TD, Jeff Dugan Flattens Official

This Percy Harvin kick-off return momentarily gave the Vikings hope (until they lost it again when Chester Taylor couldn’t haul in a screen pass from Brett Favre).  It is memorable not only for Percy, but for Jeff Dugan running over the back judge.  Amazingly, there are people who suggest Dugan ran the official over on purpose as payback for a costly tripping call made against him on the drive previous (right before the Brett Favre fumble that led to LaMarr Woodley‘s return TD, in fact).

The people accusing Dugan are living in some kind of bizarre world I can’t comprehend.  There’s no way Dugan did that on purpose.

Dugan should’ve flattened all of them, they were all pro-Steeler refs, just ask Moose Johnson, what a shame, all that Peterson and Favre did to win, and have the refs and the Stealers take it away. The NFL is as predictable as Nascar, it’s a joke.

How do you justfy 10 penalties, most on the final drives, i never liked refs, they have favorite teams to. Now i know what the Cardinals, Ravens and Seahawks felt, it makes you sick to see how this rotten business they call the NFL is run.

Um, are you watching a different video? He CLEARLY runs over the ref on purpose. There’s not a Steeler that’s in front of him for 10+ yards. Don’t tell me he couldn’t go off to the side of the ref to keep going down the field. That’s bush league stuff right there.

I felt for Dugan after the unfair tripping penalty, but he clearly took out the ref on purpose so now I have no sympathy. He saw the ref from 10 yards away and chose to absolutely drill him which slowed him down a lot more than sidestepping the ref. Not like he was going to be running ahead of Percy at that point anyway.
