Vikings Make Playoffs for Second Straight Year

With today’s convincing win over the Bengals, the Vikings clinched a playoff berth for the second straight season.

They will still have to wait to clinch the NFC North, however, as the Packers were able to overcome the Bears to remain in the race.

With the Saints winning to push their record to 13-0, the Vikings’ prospects for grabbing the #1 overall NFC seed are looking grim.  But at 11-2, they are solidly in control of the #2 seed and the first round playoff bye that would come with it.

Amazing how much better we feel about our team right now than we did in the wake of that meltdown in Arizona.  Was that thing a blip or what?

No – it wasn’t a blip. This week, it was a marginal offense led by an inexperienced quarterback.

Last week, it was a veteran quarterback able to exploit that the vikings got their butts kicked on the line of scrimmage.

The vikes don’t match up well agains NO Saints and the colts? Forget it!

You don’t know what the hell you’re talking about Joe blow!! Carson Palmer inexperienced? You’re an idiot. Last week was a fluke against Arizona, and if we play them again in the playoffs, you’ll see a different game, entirely. We match up real well with the Saints, as a matter of fact, we’ve beaten them in their home dome several times. Their secondary is weak, as evidenced today, letting a true inexperienced back-up in Chris Redmon, throw all over them. Where do you uninformed bozos come from? Also, Peyton Manning hardly looked spectacular himself today, and i’ll bet you San Diego beats Indy at Indy in the playoffs. If Manning threw 3 pics against a good team like San Diego, there’s no way they win that game.

A great win by the Vikings. Very encouraging all around, especially our pass coverage. Our defensive line played solid, but I don’t think they played to their reputation. Maybe this was just me, but did anyone else even notice that Tyrell Johnson was missing? I mean seriously.

Joe – inexperienced? Carson Palmer? Really?

I am much more worried about Manning. Brees is playing very well, but as Bernie just said, that NO defense just gave up over 300 yards to Chris Redman. Yeah. Chris Redman. NO is so obsessed with that perfect record, by the time they get to the playoffs they will have exposed their entire offense and defense for the rest of the NFL to study on film.

Supervike, I’m glad you have some common sense. I agree that our defensive line can step it up a little more, and i think we’ll all see a great pass rush, when the playoffs finally get here. Honestly, i would’nt be surprised if the Saints get knocked off in their first playoff game. In the AFC, every team should watch San Diego’s game film against the Colts, and learn something. How do the Chargers go into Indy, year after year and beat them, when nobody else can figure them out? As far as the game yesterday, the Vikings defense was much better, thanks mainly to Antwoine Winfield’s return, plus the fact that 2 rookies played great. I hate to call people names, but this Joe guy continues to write all negative stuff about our Vikings, and says he’s no Packer fan, i can hardly believe that Joe is a Viking fan. Winfield made 9 tackles yesterday, that’s why we need him in there.

Get over it; the Vikings can’t beat the Saints.
