Former Vikings linebacker and current Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio talks to former Viking offensive coordinator Brian Billick about the big match-up this Sunday.  Del Rio reveals that he is pulling for the Saints, a team he used to play for and work for as a conditioning coach, which means we must now officially hate him.  He says the Saints won’t be able to run on the Vikings, and the Vikings will get everything but the kitchen sink in terms of blitzes from Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.  He picks the Saints.

I just stumbled upon this site and I have to tell you, whoever ‘danzinski’ is, he’s one hell of a writer. You had me laughing out loud about Del Rio. What a tool. Yes, I now officially hate him. And I thought that 10 points column was fantastic. Emailed all my Cowpoke lovin’ friends to rub it in. None of them thought the Vikes had a chance on Sunday. Not one.

    Keep up the good work

Bikedude must be related to Danzinski or one of his former Hells Angels buddies. Danz only shows support for the Vikings after they win and no confidence before the game. I wonder if the dude read the Danz’s irritating column before the Cowboys game describing 10 ways the Vikings could blow it.

In this post, he features Vikings hater Del Rio, who must be crazy to think the Saints can blitz Favre, out of all of the former players picking the Vikings. For example, Cris Carter. Or why not mention the interviewer Brian Billick picks the Vikings?

I’m just glad Danz hasn’t reverted to posting Fran’s tirades against Brett, including the one yesterday. Give it a rest Fran! Sir Francis is already the Vikings second best QB ever, no matter what happens from here. I really hate Grumpy Old Fran!

Former coach and player Herm Edwards is picking the Vikings (and Jets). He says Favre should pass on first down (when the Saints defense is loading the box) and run Peterson on second down (to soften the defense). He also recommends passing in play action.

Geez Danz, I just watched the video. Del Rio said the Vikings have the better defense. He said it will be hard for the Saints to win if their defense doesn’t get turnovers from Favre and Peterson. Del Rio thinks they will. But Brett no longer throws interceptions and Peterson now holds on to the ball with two hands at the end of runs. If I wasn’t a Vikings fan, I would feel sorry for the people of New Orleans.

The Vikings are 9-0 at home on artificial turf and only 4-4 on the road. But all 4 losses came on grass and they were 2-0 on turf like the Saints have. The Saints also must think about losing their last 2 regular season games at home, when they felt they needed to win.

Why don’t you guys EVER pay attention? All you look at is the numbers, not the WHY of the numbers. Sure, the Saints lost there last 2 games at home; with 5, say it out loud with me, FIVE, defensive starters and THREE offensive starters out of the game. How many are out this week? ZERO. There’s not even a starting defensive player on the injury report except Sharper, and thats his typical Wednesday routine. I see from this article how worried you would be if Williams and Edwards cant play, so imagine losing both of them, plus EJ (who I know is already out) and Winfield, and Greenway. How tough would your defense be then? The Saints that will take the field on Sunday are the same ones that played in September, October, and November. Go back and review THOSE results.

Hey Saint Robert Meachem fan. Why don’t you Saints guys EVER pay attention? All you look at is the numbers, not the WHY of the numbers! The Saints lost to Boys and Bucs because they had no offense. Find excuses for that, not the defense! Like tell us how great are the THREE offensive starters they were missing and if they will play this week.

Robert M; The word just came out. All those you listed are, with the exception, of EJ are going to play! The Vikings are coming with a full load!

  • Robert M

exactly my point, deer tracks…I was making a reference to what it was like when the Saints played Dallas. It was as IF you had to play without all those guys. Didn’t you really read what I wrote?

And, SH28, Shockey was out for BOTH of those games, Pierre Thomas missed most of the Bucs game after he was injured, and Dave Thomas, who is our backup TE, now starting FB (due to Heath Evans being on IR), was also out. Shockey and Pierre are KINDA important to our offense? So, without our both our TEs and our RB, where were we supposed to get help for our LT against DeMarcus Ware? The difference tomorrow is, Shockey will play, Dave Thomas will play, Pierre Thomas will play, and Reggie Bush is now 100%. If you want to hang your hopes on the fantasy that you saw a month ago, rather than the reality you saw all season and again last week, you’re welcome to do so.

  • Robert M

As far as needed to win those two games…you can have the desire to win all you want, but if you don’t have the talent, it doesn’t matter. Ask Detroit. You think they go into games not trying to win?

  • SH28

Shockey is so banged up now he might as well be out now also. Pierre Thomas started both games, little excuse there, especially since he can be easily replaced by Bell and Bush with little drop off. Big deal about some backup TE, replacement FB. Prepare to be stopped again by the Purple People Eaters defense just like the Boys and Bucs did it.

Well, Robert M…I think right about now, we all (including you) can just forget about who did what to whom, days and months ago, the real test will be today….I will keep your comments in mind…well, maybe up to the first 5 minutes of the game, then will let them fly out the window….Do what I am going to do..Set back and watch what should be a real “Barn Burner”…..
