Brett Favre's Big Night: Jay Leno, Hannah Montana, Dinner With Faith Hill

The guy whose name I said I wasn’t going to say again until he announced his intentions for next season (headlines don’t count – I need his name in there for the traffic) had a big day on Thursday, flying to L.A. to appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, then taking his kid to see Hannah Montana before finishing the night with wife Deanna, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill at a swanky eatery.

The best thing about the evening for That Guy?  No big cheap-shot artist Saints pass-rushers blowing by his pitiful linemen and trying to take his ankles out.

Of course, any time That Guy goes anywhere in public, he is going to get grilled about his NFL future.  On Leno, he said what we all expected him to say:  nothing definitive.

He seemed pretty good-natured about the whole thing there with Jay on the Tonight Show set.  On the sidewalk after dinner with some idiot photographer getting up in his face?  He seemed…irritated.

But, he abstained from going full Sean Penn on the photographer, so that’s good.

Next up for That Guy:  guiding the Vikings’ free agent signings and draft activities from his hot tub in Hattiesburg.

Favre will find he is no longer a how celebrity but rather just some old former footballer if he retires.

I heard Ray Lewis invited Favre and the Hills to that restaurant. Favre better be careful who he goes out with. Ray Lewis is the guy convicted of running someone down who got murdered. I don’t know why he didn’t go to jail, maybe his friends helped him beat the wrap.

Well, I heard it was a big pre-Oscar party at the restaurant and Lewis and Favres and Faith Hill were all party-goers.
Even as just a “former footballer” after he retires…I am sure Buzz Cook is looking out for Favre’s future by keeping him in the public eye…endorsements, possible gigs in sports broadcasting/analysis, etc. I think we’ll be seeing That Guy after he retires….he may putz around on his mower for a year or so, but the limelight will draw him back…oh yeah, and I think he will be very good at it…

Dream on. Favre will be as big as Joe Montana. You only hear his name at Hanna concerts.
