Brett Favre Will Make 2010 Debut Vs. 49ers

Despite the comical charade Brett Favre and the Vikings insist on going through, everyone already knows Brett will be returning to quarterback the Purple in 2010.

Now we know which team will get the first look at Favre in the preseason: the San Francisco 49ers.

The NFL announced the preseason schedule today, and San Francisco will be the Vikes’ second opponent, on August 22. We assume Brett will be skipping the first preseason game like last year, so, Favre’s first action should come then.

Unless Brett decides he doesn’t feel like making the trip out to Frisco – in which case, his debut would likely come in preseason game 3, at home vs. Seattle.

NBC clearly thinks Brett will be coming back in preseason Week 2 – hence their decision to carry the Vikings/Niners game in prime time.

For the record, the Vikes’ remaining preseason schedule features a road trip to St. Louis, and a home game against Denver.

If form holds, Favre will dip his toes in vs. San Fran, play a half vs. Seattle then sit out the Denver game to rest up for the (not-yet-officially-announced) regular season opener against the Saints.

Only four-and-a-half more months to wait!

new Vikings fan as of last season. with all due respect, we all THINK Favre’s coming back. no one KNOWS for sure. i say that cause – well, we don’t know for sure. just like when i rip on the anti-Favre contingent who say “Favre’s egotistical”, “Favre went to MN to stick it to TT”, “Favre this and Favre that”. we can all assume but no one knows anything ‘cept Brett. ;)

Hello,Vikings Fans, me, too, NOw about this Absolutely dumb
things being said about QB Brett Farve, most of the talkers are such fools, this man has been a NFL Championfor
years, and winnings depend on team members, if you cannot look, and see that each game Screw you all, I would and am honored this Vikes have him now, I challenge any American to get out of their B,S, and watch the games, live and see who’s the real deal, I know bodily pains, myself , So his
being over 39 is something about his personal, challenges,
for which many Bitchers, here don’t know a thing about pain, Erlandson, Loveland, Colorado,,,,

Right on, Randel!!!! #4 all the way!!!!

I think danzinski is making a good point – the Farve doesn’t need two a days, or summer camp or anything. He proved last year that all he needs is rest, stay in shape for the fall, and go to town. It’s taken me a long time to get over the crushing loss to NO. But it’s as close as the Vikes have gotten in 10 years! I’m troubled by the loss of Chester Taylor (to the Bears of all teams) and not so confident of AP to fill the role. (Mr. Fumbler).

I am only 12 years old but the vikings are my favorite team by far! I hope that favre plays for the purple this year, but him and me both know that there is no debate about it. He will play, we will go to the super bowl and be crowned champions!!!!
