So we know Jimmy Clausen will probably be gone by the time the Vikings draft, and it’s looking like Tim Tebow will too.
That would appear to leave Colt McCoy as the only quarterback candidate worth taking in the top two rounds.
But according to Judd Zulgad, you can forget about McCoy too. “Chance Tebow & Clausen are gone before 30 so QB question for Vikings is eliminated,” the Star-Trib writer just tweeted. “They aren’t taking McCoy.”
Not “they probably won’t take McCoy” but “they aren’t taking McCoy.”
In another tweet, Zulgad cited McCoy’s small size as the main strike against him.
Of course, the last I looked, Zulgad does not work for the Vikings, but merely reports on them. However, his voice is as close to a definitive one as you’re going to find in the media as regards the Vikings, so I have to believe, if he’s saying McCoy is off the board for the Vikes, McCoy is off the board for the Vikes.
