Those who are tired of Brett Favre dominating the off-season NFL headlines will be happy to know that, for the past few days, Favre has not only not been the most-talked-about man in the sport, he hasn’t even been the most-talked-about man on his own team. That distinction has, for the past 48 hours, belonged to Jared Allen, who in booting Favre from the blogs has proven once again the power of the mullet.
Or, in this case, the power of the shedding of the mullet.
I don’t know how you could’ve missed it, but in case you have, here’s the story:
Jared Allen is getting married. And in order not to look like a total doof in his wedding pictures, he has trimmed his hair.
This must’ve been a painful decision for a man as dedicated to the mullet way-of-life as Jared. But, in this case, love for a woman trumped love for a hairstyle.
At least temporarily.
Yes, it appears the mullet is not gone forever. “The mullet was trimmed for the wedding but the Moolay is more than just some hair, its a lifestyle!” explained Jared on Twitter. “You gotta keep a positive Mullitude…”
Words to live by.
Thankfully, there’s plenty of time for Jared to regrow the mullet before the season starts. The last thing we need is a Samson situation.
