We may have an explanation for why Sidney Rice has elected not to participate in Larry Fitzgerald‘s camp this summer. No, it wasn’t just to irritate Cris Carter. In fact, Rice is injured. We just don’t know how bad.
The news comes via Rice’s agent Drew Rosenhaus, who took to Twitter Thursday afternoon to address an apparent report that Rice has had surgery for a bad groin.
“Sidney Rice does not have a groin injury and has not had surgery,” Rosenhaus said. “He does have a lingering hip injury that he suffered in the play-offs.”
Then came the somewhat troubling tweet, from the Vikings’ perspective: “Sidney does not anticipate that this injury will require surgery and he’s hopeful that he will be fully healthy for the start of the season.”
In other words, there’s a chance he might not be fully healthy for the start of the season.
I have no idea where the groin thing came from, but apparently, it’s a false report. Also, if Rice’s hip is bad enough for him to worry he might not make the start of the season…there’s his excuse for not showing up at Fitzgerald’s camp.
Satisfied now Cris Carter?
