Chilly Isn’t the Only One Visiting the Silver Fox

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

Sources have said that 4 Vikings fans had come to Hattiesburg to congratulate Favre on his season with the Vikings. They drove from Minnesota to Mississippi. That’s quite the feat. Also my opinion on Chilly coming to visit grandpa is this: I don’t care. I don’t want to hear any more Favre news. We all know he’s coming back.

Brad Childress Visits Brett Favre

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

Training camp is almost upon us, and Brad Childress is starting to get antsy about his quarterback situation. Perhaps hoping to assuage his nervousness, Chilly took a trip down to Hattiesburg this weekend, and dropped in on the man he hopes will be his #1 QB when the season starts September 9. Reports say Childress arrived in Brett Favre‘s town Sunday night, and hung around with Brett at Southern Mississippi’s 7-on-7 passing camp Monday morning. When asked why he was there, Childress would only say, “You can fill in the blanks.” By now, it’s possible that Favre has already told [...]

Brett Favre Talks About His Ankle, His ESPY (Video)

AUTHOR: | IN: Video, Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

Brett Favre appeared at the ESPYs last night, to present the Arthur Ashe Courage Award to the family of slain high school football coach Ed Thomas. Along the way, Brett received an ESPY of his own – for Best Play, along with teammate Greg Lewis. Afterward, Favre was able to slip out of the Nokia Theater without a single reporter asking him about his future. Yeah, right. Eh…he’s barely even trying anymore. Soon he’ll get tired of the charade and make his announcement. Come on Brett, make the announcement. Ed Werder is sick of waiting. Follow FanSided on Facebook. Follow [...]

Adrian Peterson Contract Talk

AUTHOR: | IN: Rumors, Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

The real media is whispering that Adrian Peterson may be unhappy with his contract, which is set to run for three more years. Said NFL.com’s Michael Lombardi under the heading “Things I hear…” The next player to complain about his contract will be Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, who missed the mandatory minicamp due to a scheduling conflict. Considering what Lombardi was saying, maybe “scheduling conflict” should’ve been in quotes. Actually, most people aren’t treating this like a great revelation. Peterson signed a six-year, $40 million deal coming out of college, and in the first three years, has for [...]

Bernard Berrian Joins Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens on VH1 Reality Show

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

Bernard Berrian has gone Hollywood. If indeed you consider appearing with Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens on a VH1 reality show “going Hollywood.” For the curious, here’s a little taste of “B Twice’s” reality TV debut. VH1 TV Shows | Music Videos | Celebrity Photos | News & Gossip No, the show is not called The Three Stooges – it’s called Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch. It’s like The Bachelor…except with Ochocinco. Berrian and T.O. are apparently there to help Chad pick out his special lady from among the shameless attractive young female applicants. Ochocinco obviously has no fear that doing [...]

Two More All-NFC North Polls

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

The TE poll is winding down here on The Viking Age, and it looks like Visanthe Shiancoe is going to be the winner. Thanks to everyone who voted, especially the Viking fans. Unlike the readers over at Bear Goggles On, where Jay Cutler is a distant fourth in the QB poll, the TVA faithful know how to hold their home field. Now, all you need to do is go back to Bear Goggles On, and then over to Side Lion Report, and vote two more times. On Bear Goggles, we’ve got the #2 running back poll going. That one’s not [...]

Drew Rosenhaus Tweets About Sidney Rice Groin Injury

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

We may have an explanation for why Sidney Rice has elected not to participate in Larry Fitzgerald‘s camp this summer. No, it wasn’t just to irritate Cris Carter. In fact, Rice is injured. We just don’t know how bad. The news comes via Rice’s agent Drew Rosenhaus, who took to Twitter Thursday afternoon to address an apparent report that Rice has had surgery for a bad groin. “Sidney Rice does not have a groin injury and has not had surgery,” Rosenhaus said. “He does have a lingering hip injury that he suffered in the play-offs.” Then came the somewhat troubling [...]

Cris Carter Blasts Sidney Rice for Skipping Larry Fitzgerald’s Camp

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

Last year Sidney Rice attended Larry Fitzgerald‘s off-season wide receiver camp, which featured should-be-Hall-of-Famer Cris Carter as an instructor. The result? A Pro Bowl season for Sidney Rice. The receiver was quick to credit the camp – along with Brett Favre – for his emergence as a top offensive weapon. But despite the apparent benefits Rice received by attending the camp, this summer he elected to skip it. And this is not sitting well with professor Cris Carter, who thinks Rice needed to follow up his break-out year with another off-season of intensive work. Carter, when asked by reporters why [...]
