Report: Brett Favre is on His Way to Minnesota

I don’t know what Jared Allen, Steve Hutchinson and Ryan Longwell said to Brett Favre, but it seems to have worked.  Because, according to Scott Hanson of NFL Network, Favre has gotten on a plane and is flying north to Minnesota.

Also, according to Joe Schmit of KSTP in Minneapolis, an announcement about Favre’s future is about to be posted on the quarterback’s website OfficialBrettFavre.com.

Since I doubt Favre would fly all the way back to Minny just to say he’s quitting, my guess is that the announcement on the website will be that he is returning for the 2010 season.

Then again, this is Favre we’re talking about.  These stories have a way of taking wild, gut-churning twists when you least expect it.

We’ll just have to keep our eye on it.

Update: Jay Glazer has chimed in, tweeting: “Brett Favre has told trio of Vikings who came to persuade him to return that he is “back in” and is on plane back to minny now.”

It would appear that Favre Watch 2010 is officially over.

Are we to believe the trio was so convincing that Brett would immediately board a plane and return to the Twin Cities? I’m calling shenanigans.
