This move, were it to happen, makes perfect sense from the Vikings side of things.

Even if you aren't making the move for this season, it sure as hell makes sense for the future. You can't count on Favre to be back again next year, Tarvaris clearly isn't the answer, and Joe Webb - although maybe filled with some promise - surely isn't going to be ready to take over.

And it makes a lot more sense to bring in Kolb now than during the offseason. This way he'll have almost a full season to acclimate to the minor differences between the Eagles and Vikes systems and, should the next six weeks play out similarly to the first two, maybe even get in a few starts to establish chemistry with Rice (assuming he's back), Percy (assuming he's not in bed with a headache), and the rest of the receivers.

The only problem is that most of Kolb's contract extension was paid in the form of a $10+ million signing bonus. I don't see the Eagles pissing that money away. I'm not sure if it's logistically possible under the CBA, but the Vikes might have to chip in for about half of that for the Birds to even consider it.

Gee, when you panic you don't kid around.....

It's bad enough that you're on the verge of giving up on the entire season after two games, but you're willing to trade for Kolb in the hopes of saving it is desperation without looking at any other option.

I hate losing as much as the next fan, but the two games were close and the Vikes had chances to win. The Dolphins only scored one TD in the first quarter and we held them to zero for the balance of the game. The problem is everyone "EXPECTING" an undefeated season because of how we did last year.

Both losses I put on Favre for not being in camp and assuming that he can pick it where he left off last season. We'll be better when we get Cook/Griffin/Rice back.

If we want to tweak til then, I'm for it, but I'm not ready to cash in the season yet
