The Vikings seem to be making slow progress toward getting their whole defensive backfield back together. This week, Chris Cook was well enough that he was able to participate fully in practice, and Cedric Griffin says he is almost ready as well.
However, like I said, the progress is slow. Both players, despite getting in their practice time, are still listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. Detroit.
The Vikings may just elect to leave both players inactive for this week, knowing they have the bye week coming up after that. Once those two weeks have elapsed, you have to figure both men would be back to full speed. We will need them for the tough stretch of games coming up, starting with a trip to New York to visit the Jets.
In other injury report news, Brett Favre is listed as probable with an elbow and the ankle. Bernard Berrian, Percy Harvin, John Sullivan, Bryant McKinnie and Ben Leber are also probable with their various ailments.
