Brett Favre Has Two Fractures in His Ankle, May Still Play Sunday

In his somewhat depressing Monday afternoon post-loss press conference, Brad Childress revealed the extent of the damage to Brett Favre‘s left ankle.  According to Chilly, Favre has suffered two fractures – an evulsion fracture and a stress fracture – and says Favre is currently wearing an ankle boot.  The quarterback will not need surgery.

Predictably, Childress refused to rule out Favre for Sunday’s game against the Patriots.

Well gosh, we know Favre is tough as nails, but there’s got to be a limit to how far you push this.  At some point, even Tarvaris Jackson becomes a better option than a crippled Favre.

It’s possible the Vikings have now reached this point, but just aren’t letting on.  Coaching games…aren’t they adorable?
