Vikings Waive Randy Moss

A little over an hour after Brad Childress claimed he didn’t think Randy Mosscritical post-game comments were a big deal, the Vikings have reportedly waived the receiver.

Interestingly, Childress also mentioned during his presser that, rather than make Moss come back to Minnesota with the team, he allowed the receiver to stay in New England to visit with family.  Clearly, there was more going on there than Chilly just being a nice guy.

Another thing is clear:  With the Vikings ship sinking fast, Childress and the brain trust decided they couldn’t deal with the extra distractions Moss brought.  So, the second Randy Moss era ends after only 4 games, 2 touchdowns and 1 win.

The silver lining:  hopefully this move means Sidney Rice is ready to return. If Sidney can quickly get back up to speed, we won’t miss Moss very much.
