There is a chance that on Sunday the Vikings could have their anticipated full 2010 receiver corps together for the first time all year. But it doesn’t look like a good chance.
As of now, it appears Percy Harvin will be the missing piece to the receiver puzzle when the Vikings take the field Sunday against the Bears. The dynamic and somewhat hot-headed young star missed two days of practice with a migraine flare-up, and despite making it back to Winter Park on Friday, is still experiencing lingering effects from the attack. As a result, Harvin is listed as doubtful on Friday’s injury report. Of course, Harvin has made quick recoveries in the past, so who knows.
The news is slightly better on Sidney Rice. After nearly being activated for last week’s game, Rice is listed as questionable for Sunday, giving him a 50-50 chance of making his highly-anticipated 2010 debut – assuming the Vikings activate him from the PUP list before Saturday’s deadline. Rice himself will reportedly make the call on whether he is physically able to go. Viking Update says Rice will wait until after Saturday’s walkthrough to decide on his status.
Update: As further proof that nothing is ever simple in Vikingland, the team just sent out an urgent tweet amending Percy Harvin’s injury report status. Harvin will now be listed as questionable instead of doubtful.
