There’s no way of finessing the situation – the Vikings need a win against Arizona or their season will be lost.  At 2-5 they still have a decent shot at the playoffs, given the weakness of the NFC.  But if they slide to 2-6?  You can kiss any realistic hope of a 2010 playoff run goodbye.  And, if last week’s reports are to be believed, you can probably kiss Brad Childress goodbye as well. Evidence has mounted all week that Zygi Wilf may be pondering making a coaching change, including a report that Wilf met with multiple veteran Vikings, including Brett Favre, to discuss their feelings about the embattled Brad Childress. We know the Vikings won’t have Randy Moss this weekend, and we have learned they almost certainly will not have Sidney Rice even though they just removed him from the PUP list and he has begun practicing.  And now it looks like they will be without Percy Harvin who injured his ankle against the Pats and was “extremely limited” in practice Friday according to Brad Childress. The NFL sent a clear message today:  Stay away from Brett Favre‘s face. The Patriots‘ Myron Pryor gave Favre a shot up under the helmet Sunday, splitting Favre’s chin and sending him to the locker room.  Today Pryor was fined $7500 by the league for the hit. I still think it’s a long-shot that Brad Childress gets fired during the season, no matter what happens to the Vikings from here on out.  But at the same time it’s hard to ignore all the speculation coming from legitimate media folks that if the Vikings don’t handle the Cardinals in confident fashion Sunday at the Metrodome, Chilly will be sent packing by Zygi Wilf come Monday. The Tennessee Titans have won the Randy Moss sweepstakes.  The flightly receiver, who was cut by the Vikings Monday after just four games with the team, is expected to report to Tennessee just as fast as he can get there (hopefully he will show more urgency in getting to Tennessee than he did in running most of his routes with the Vikings). Brad Childress finally ticked off the one person he couldn’t afford to tick off:  owner Zygi Wilf.  According to reports, Wilf is less-than-thrilled with Childress’ decision to jettison Randy Moss a day after Moss took some public shots at Chilly.
