Jay Glazer: Vikings Players Not Thrilled by Moss Move

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News, Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

It appears not everyone on the Vikings is on-board with the decision to waive Randy Moss.  Jay Glazer just tweeted that his phone is “burning up from Vikings who are incredibly frustrated” by the move to send Moss packing.  What this means for head coach Brad Childress is anyone’s guess.  However, Glazer also tweeted this: Players liked Moss but guys were saying this season, nothing Chilly does surprises them. It certainly seems that Childress has lost the support of his players.  This story is not anywhere near over.  Things are getting crazy in Viking Nation. Follow FanSided on Facebook. Follow [...]

Vikings Waive Randy Moss

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

A little over an hour after Brad Childress claimed he didn’t think Randy Moss‘ critical post-game comments were a big deal, the Vikings have reportedly waived the receiver. Interestingly, Childress also mentioned during his presser that, rather than make Moss come back to Minnesota with the team, he allowed the receiver to stay in New England to visit with family.  Clearly, there was more going on there than Chilly just being a nice guy. Another thing is clear:  With the Vikings ship sinking fast, Childress and the brain trust decided they couldn’t deal with the extra distractions Moss brought.  So, [...]

Brad Childress Responds to Randy Moss

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

Brad Childress heard what Randy Moss had to say after yesterday’s game…and doesn’t think it was that big a deal.  That’s Brad’s story anyway, and he’s sticking to it. In his Monday presser, Childress responded to questions about Randy’s tirade – which included veiled shots at Childress’ coaching ability and general criticism of the Vikings’ staff for not listening to his advice on how to beat the Patriots – with a shrug of the shoulders.  Childress told reporters he didn’t find the comments “incendiary,” and thought Moss was just expressing his “fondness” for his old coach and organization. When asked [...]

On Brad Childress Going for the TD Instead of the Field Goal

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

One Brad Childress coaching move from yesterday’s painful loss to the Patriots warrants further discussion:  his decision to go for the touchdown instead of the field goal with a little over a minute left in the second quarter. The situation set up this way:  The score was 7-7.  The Vikings had just gotten 10 yards on a Toby Gerhart reception on 3rd-and-11, and now faced 4th-and-goal from the 1.  They called time out to stop the clock at 1:07.  Obviously, a field goal here gives you the lead, but you then have to kick it away to the Patriots who [...]

Vikings in Dire Situation After 28-18 Loss to Patriots

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

You know where the Vikings didn’t expect to be after seven games?  Tied with the Lions at 2-5.  But that’s exactly where they find themselves after yet another frustrating defeat.  Once again, they were in the game at half time, but saw it slip away in the second half.  Unlike the Packer game, where most of the blame for the collapse fell on the shoulders of Brett Favre, this one was largely on the defense.  The Vikings gave up only 7 first half points to the Patriots, who looked sluggish throughout the first two quarters and only scored those 7 [...]
