Bad Weather Messes Up Giants' Travel Plans

The Giants knew bad weather was coming into Minneapolis this weekend, so they adjusted their travel plans by leaving New York a few hours early.  Unfortunately the early departure did not get the Giants into Minneapolis in time to beat the blizzard.  The Minneapolis airport has been closed because of the storm, and the Giants’ flight has reportedly been diverted to Kansas City.

It is unknown at this time when the Minneapolis airport will re-open – meaning the Giants could have a long stay in Kansas City.  I suppose there’s even a possibility tomorrow’s game could end up being pushed back to 3:15 central…or, if all snowy hell continues breaking loose, postponed until Monday.  Minneapolis is getting socked right now…as evidenced by this Twitter picture of Chris Kluwe‘s driveway.

Obviously, from the Vikings’ point-of-view, anything that goofs up the Giants’ routine is good news.  If the Giants come out sluggish tomorrow, or whenever the game is finally played, and it helps the Vikings win?  Big ups to mother nature for the assist.

Update: As of now, the NFL says the game is still scheduled to go off at noon central Sunday. The league says the Giants will try to get into Minneapolis tonight or early tomorrow morning.
