Brett Favre Failed His Concussion Test

NFL concussion procedures are pretty strict these days thanks to the league’s new emphasis on player safety.  Basically, a player who has suffered a concussion is subjected to a battery of tests during the course of the week, including ones that measure memory and concentration, and must pass the tests before they are allowed to play.

Brett Favre, by virtue of the concussion he suffered Monday night, is now subject to this testing.  Unfortunately for the quarterback and those who would like to see him play Sunday night against the Eagles, Favre failed to pass on Thursday, leaving his status still up in the air.

Leslie Frazier says Favre will get another shot at the test tomorrow.  All indications are that if Favre is able to pass the test he will play.  However, with Favre’s status as uncertain as it is, the Vikings are preparing as though Joe Webb will be the starter.
