Those who expected an Eagles blow-out tonight (I was one of these people) obviously underestimated the Vikings defense. Through two quarters, the Vikes have rushed the pants off of Michael Vick, sacking him 3 times, picking him off once and forcing him to fumble. The fumble was forced and recovered by Antoine Winfield who ran it 45 yards for a TD, the Vikings’ only score of the half. The Eagles did start hot, scoring a TD on their first possession when Vick hit Clay Harbor from 3 yards out, but after that the Vikings’ rush started really disrupting the Eagles. Offensively, the Vikings haven’t managed much production, otherwise they might’ve gotten a lead by now. In the second half, the Vikings will need a stronger effort from Joe Webb, who has been okay but not great so far, and a much better effort from Adrian Peterson who coughed up his first fumble of the year in the first half, scuttling a Vikings drive. It would also help for Phil Loadholt to stop getting called for drive-killing penalties.
