Freeman: "No Firm Deal in Place" For Donovan McNabb

Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com begs to differ with reports that a Donovan McNabb deal is all-but-done. Freeman says the Vikings and Redskins are indeed in discussions about McNabb but says reports that a firm deal is in place are false and that it’s still 50-50 a trade gets made.

For what it’s worth, Vikings radio man Paul Allen said moments ago on KFAN that he thinks the McNabb trade story is outright baloney and that the Vikings will go with either Tyler Thigpen or Bruce Gradkowski as their back-up. Paul Charchian believes Thigpen will end up being the man for the Vikings.

So we’ve got high-powered ESPN and NFL Network insiders saying it’s McNabb, a fairly powerful CBS insider saying it might be McNabb and some local radio guys saying it won’t be McNabb. It’s a bit of a smackdown situation.
