It’s Official: Donovan McNabb Has Been Traded to the Vikings

It’s been a long few hours for Viking fans, sweating out the Donovan McNabb stuff and losing Sidney Rice to the Seahawks, but now at last there’s something good to report. Donovan McNabb is in the fold. Per Adam Schefter, the trade is done and will be announced on Thursday.

This is good right? I mean, it’s better to go forward with Donovan McNabb than say Tyler Thigpen or Jake Delhomme or someone like that. Donovan surely has more to offer than those cast-offs. I know he had a bad year in Washington but this is a former Super Bowl quarterback who for a stretch was arguably the best in the league. Let’s be positive guys! Instead of watching Christian Ponder slog through his rookie year as the starter, we get to (maybe) watch McNabb revive his career with help from Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin and Visanthe Shiancoe.

It would’ve been better to also have Sidney Rice in the fold, I grant you, but you can’t have it all (unless your name is Brad Pitt). Let’s see what other moves the Vikings might make to bolster their offense.
