It just gets weirder. Now Jason La Canfora is reporting the Vikings and Redskins have the parameters of a deal in place for Donovan McNabb, and all the remains to make the deal happen is the Vikings working out a restructured contract with McNabb who under his current deal is owed way too much money for any sane team to pay ($12 million or thereabouts). The Matt Hasselbeck era is over in Seattle, leaving the Seahawks in need of a new quarterback. Earlier today there were reports that Kevin Kolb could be headed to the Pacific Northwest but now it appears that was incorrect. It appears Jimmy Kennedy will be cut by the Vikings. The defensive tackle just tweeted: Viking fans, Thank you for accepting me as your own, but Im sorry to imform you I AM NO LONGER With the Team. Remember all that drama years back with Tyler Thigpen when the Vikings wanted to sneak him onto the practice squad but he was claimed off waivers by the Chiefs and Brad Childress was supposedly distraught over losing him? It looks like the Vikings may have a chance to rectify that ancient mistake. In a tweet, Miami Herald writer Jeff Darlington said free agent Thigpen “has his eyes” on the Vikings as a potential landing spot. The Denver Post’s Mike Klis says that Kyle Orton‘s “days as the Broncos‘ starting QB may be down to hours.” The Broncos, writes Klis, have officially placed Orton on the trading block. The list of teams that could have interest in swinging a deal for Orton once the trading period begins Tuesday at 9 AM CT includes the Vikings, Cardinals, Titans, Redskins, Seahawks, Bengals and Dolphins.
