Madden '12 Team Ratings: Vikings Are Dead-Last In Division

The folks who programmed Madden ’12 don’t think very much of the Vikings. In his preview of the Madden ’12 ratings, ESPN’s Jon Robinson revealed the Vikings have received a 74 overall, good for last in the NFC North – yes even below the Lions who received a 76. For those wondering, the Arizona Cardinals have received the worst team rating in the NFL at 70.

The defending champion Packers received a predictable 92 rating, while the Bears fell in the middle at 85.

The bright spot for the Vikings on Madden, as in real life, is Adrian Peterson who has been assigned a 97 rating by the geeks, with 97 for speed and 90 for trucking. Peterson was bested in the division by Aaron Rodgers who got a 98, just one point below the hallowed 99 perfect Madden score.

Of course as everyone knows video game developers are idiots when it comes to sports so we should just dismiss all of these ratings as mere nonsense. We’ll see who’s a 74 when the real games start. You know, the real games that involve flesh-and-blood players trying to hurt each other instead of lazy fools parked in front of their flat-screens with little game paddles in their greasy hands? Yeah those games.
