Vikings Safety Tyrell Johnson Arrested For DWI

So as not to be accused of anything defamatory or otherwise illegal, I will restrict myself to the facts in this situation as we know them and not jump to any potentially damaging conclusions.

Last night, someone named Marcellous Tyrell Johnson was arrested by the Minnesota State Patrol in Hennepin, County (via Darren Wolfson) and booked for DWI. Mr.  Johnson spent a few hours in the slammer before being released at 5:28 AM on Tuesday.

Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but the Vikings also happen to have a player on their team named Marcellous Tyrell Johnson. You all know him as Tyrell Johnson, back-up safety (or starting safety depending on what kind of mood Leslie Frazier is in).

Are the Tyrell Johnson who plays for the Vikings and the Tyrell Johnson who was busted for DWI the same man? We’ll soon know one way or the other.

Update: Confirmation. It was our Tyrell. I guess he felt guilty about dropping that interception and decided to get sloshed.
