If Ponder or Webb are progressing in practice, they should be practicing. We should not be tanking, but we really should see what a rookie can do. The difference between this time and last time with Tarvaris, is that Ponder is supposed to be ready. Tarvaris may have been fine after spending some time watching from the bench, 3 years or so, and then coming in. I'd say the IDEAL situation would be: Ponder is actually a good quarterback, we use our early picks next year on linemen (either side, ideally offense), and we maybe bring in some cheap, young free agents to provide depth. I can't comment on Luck (I havent watched a minute of college football this year....or last...or the year before that), but the Vikings REALLY need to become that team that has 8-10 draft picks every year, not the team that has 4-6.
