One of the silver linings of the Vikings‘ 0-4 start has been the fact that they’ve managed to remain pretty healthy, but that silver lining now appears to have been cruelly torn away and stomped into the dust. On Wednesday no fewer than three key contributors missed practice entirely, and a handful of other guys were limited due to injury.
Among the three guys missing practice were two surprises and one non-surprise. The shockers were Chris Kluwe who has come down with a hamstring issue in his punting leg and Antoine Winfield who is nursing a bad neck. The only non-surprise was John Sullivan who hurt his ankle during the Chiefs game but managed to gut it out until the end.
The limited participation guys on Wednesday included Charlie Johnson who missed the end of the Kansas City game with a triceps injury. Husain Abdullah, Jamarca Sanford and E.J. Henderson also saw limited action.
Perhaps in anticipation of Kluwe’s hammy becoming a more serious issue, the Vikings have spent the last couple of weeks trying out punters. I’m sure Kluwe will keep us updated on his situation via Twitter. Maybe he’ll even use the whiteboard to diagram his exact condition.
