Vikings Lead Cardinals 28-3 At Half

The Vikings are winning the big play battle so far today. They’ve turned over Arizona twice on the way to scoring 28 points, 21 coming on Adrian Peterson touchdowns. Donovan McNabb scored the other TD on a rush. Passing-wise McNabb has done almost nothing, but he did complete one big pass to Devin Aromashodu while scrambling. McNabb can still make plays on the run…it’s when he’s in the pocket that things sometimes get sketchy. Overall McNabb hasn’t been any more accurate than usual but it hasn’t mattered thanks to Arizona’s ineptitude and the Vikings’ ability to exploit same (so far). The big performers on defense have been Brian Robison, Jared Allen, Asher Allen (who got the Vikings’ one pick) and Erin Henderson. Yes Arizona has been able to move the ball at times but the Vikes have come up with big plays to stop drives, the biggest being Jared Allen’s sack of Kevin Kolb to stop a Cardinals threat in the second quarter. Finally the Vikings are coming up with enough plays on offense and defense to keep the ball moving, get it in the end zone and stuff Arizona drives. But…there’s still a whole half left.
