		<description>Honestly, I don&#039;t think you could be more wrong. If he&#039;s hurt, then of course he shouldn&#039;t play. If he heals, then there&#039;s no reason to stop him from playing. Teams don&#039;t stop playing their stars when they&#039;re healthy, even if their record is 0-15. Why? There are a number of good reasons.

 

First, the NFL is a business, and just because you don&#039;t make the playoffs doesn&#039;t mean you can&#039;t be a successful business. You still need to fill the seats and develop a loyal fan base.

 

Second, the chances of a star sustaining an injury in the last few games of the season that will take them out of the next season are relatively small. Balance that chance against the need to keep up the player&#039;s confidence, desire, happiness, and general game-day ability, and it&#039;s no contest.</description>
