Percy Harvin Injured His Pinky In Practice, Will Likely Still Play

With Adrian Peterson out, Percy Harvin has stepped up for the Vikings to become their home run threat. But now Harvin himself is dealing with an injury, having suffered a torn ligament in his pinky during practice on Wednesday. Of course Harvin is not expected to miss Sunday’s game. It’s going to take a lot more than a torn finger ligament to derail Percy Harvin.

The news isn’t so good for Christian Ponder. The Vikings QB missed his second day of practice Thursday with a bruised hip, and it’s looking more and more like Joe Webb will start vs. Detroit. Webb has come up big in relief in the past – last year he stunned the world by leading the Vikes to a Tuesday night road victory in Philadelphia. Can Webb work his magic again?

It would help Webb’s cause if Adrian Peterson got in the field for the Vikes. Peterson said in an interview the other day that he was at 70%, and on Thursday he was able to practice on a limited basis. My guess is the Vikes will look at Peterson on Friday and make a determination on whether he will play.
