I would much rather be a 13-0 Packer who will soon be in the Playoffs and possibly in the Superbowl too. You get a ring if you're on the practice squad, their are aging players at your position that this will possibly be there last yer. 15-20 years of playing football it doesn't get much better then this, knowing that you could be called in a moments notice for the big time. I respect Gurly for his decision. We lost West to Carolina earlier and he went to the Jaguars or Panthers off the practice squad and he was pretty awesome in the preseason too. On top of that he was another GB UDFA.The UDFA system is working pretty good in Green Bay, Williams, Shields, West..probably more that I don't even know.

The Packers are widely regarded as having the deepest receiving corps in the league. I've been wondering ever since preseason ended why Gurley and Smithson weren't immediately picked up by some other teams. They were the last two cuts at WR and many who watched them in the preseason thought they could make most NFL rosters.

Now we find out Gurley has turned down other teams besides the Vikings. I think he sees a QB that doesn't play favorites or get locked into one receiver. Get open and Rodgers will get you the ball. I wouldn't be surprised if Gurley turns out to be next year's big "surprise" find by Ted Thompson.

Speaking as a Packers fan, Gurley says he's turned down other offers from other teams, so it doesn't seem to be anything against the Vikings per se. And I think there's more to it than just Jennings being out for 2-3 weeks, as it doesn't look like he's going to be added to the roster for that injury. Rather, I think he sees that Donald Driver is probably in his last year and there is likely a long-term roster spot opening, not just a temporary spot with Jennings being out. Further, with Rodgers as the QB, the current roster and the current GM and coach creating a stable, quality franchise, I think he realizes the Packers could be good for a long time. That's worth a lot. As for Gurley posibly being garbage, time will tell, but he's generally considered by the receivers themselves to have the best hands on the Packers, and his size makes him tough to cover. There are many fans who think he's probably better than Driver at this point.
