Vikings Unveil Cornball Arden Hills Development Images

And now let’s check in on the never-ending stadium saga (because writing about the team itself has gotten far too depressing). The update is, there’s still no stadium. But there is still a stadium plan for Arden Hills, even though that plan now looks about as viable as a Bill Musgrave Wildcat play.

Just as Musgrave refuses to give up on the Blazer package, so do Zygi Wilf and Ramsey County refuse to let the Arden Hills dream die. To give us a better feel for their dream the Vikings and Ramsey County have released some new conceptual images portraying the proposed development as a happy fun family place full of immaculately landscaped open spaces and plazas with fountains and crap. And there’s a winter one too! I love the description (via Vikings.com)

The winter scene provides a closer view of the “main street” concept, which depicts a winter destination of cross-country skiing, ice-skating on the community pond, hiking and outdoor fun around the fire pits. The “Lake House” adjacent to the pond could provide indoor and outdoor space for community events, adjacent to the main street restaurant and retail corridor.

Somewhere Norman Rockwell is smiling. Come on Minnesota legislature, get your crap together. I want to visit Winter Zygi Land and ride the ponies. Do they have robot cowboys that become sentient and try to kill you? Oh wait, that’s Westworld. Sorry I get my cheesy fantasies mixed up.
