Vikings and Redskins Tied 10-10 at the Half

What an exciting first half of football! Okay not really. Actually it was sort of a crappy first half of football featuring two crappy teams. But at least a couple of good things happened. Jared Allen got a sack, giving him 18.5 on the season. And Adrian Peterson scored a touchdown. And…and…

Well, Christian Ponder looked a lot less shaky than he did last week. That’s good news. The Vikings secondary, on the other hand, did not look less shaky. In fact it looked just as shaky as always. When Rex Grossman picks you apart, you know you have a bad pass defense. The Redskins would probably be way ahead right now if they could stop committing dumb penalties. There’s a reason they’re 5-9. The Vikings actually have a shot to win this game, which is good news or bad news depending on your point-of-view.

I’ll be rooting for more Jared Allen sacks in the second half. Beyond that, I refuse to say.
