Vikings Unveil Cornball Arden Hills Development Images

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings, Wallpaper/Images | COMMENTS: None Yet

And now let’s check in on the never-ending stadium saga (because writing about the team itself has gotten far too depressing). The update is, there’s still no stadium. But there is still a stadium plan for Arden Hills, even though that plan now looks about as viable as a Bill Musgrave Wildcat play. Just as Musgrave refuses to give up on the Blazer package, so do Zygi Wilf and Ramsey County refuse to let the Arden Hills dream die. To give us a better feel for their dream the Vikings and Ramsey County have released some new conceptual images portraying [...]

Jared Allen Blasts Coaching Staff After Humiliating Loss

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Jared Allen is unhappy with the way things went down against the Saints. I don’t just mean the final score or the stat sheet, I mean the way he was handled by the coaches and just the overall play calling approach. Allen was pulled late in the blow out after failing to record a sack (despite getting after Drew Brees pretty good at times), and after the game he sounded off about the decision. “I was pissed that they wouldn’t let me out there to finish the game off,” Allen said. “I don’t like that they tried to pull me [...]

Adrian Peterson Accuses the Saints of Playing Dirty

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: A member of the Vikings is accusing the Saints’ defense of dirty play. After Sunday’s beat down at the Metrodome, Adrian Peterson took a shot at the Saints for going after his bum ankle. Peterson singles out Jabari Greer, claiming Greer twisted his ankle in the pile. “I came into the game kind of expecting that coming back from a high ankle sprain,” Peterson said. “Guys are going to try to take their shots when we’re on the pile and try to twist it up and things like that. “I felt like [...]

The “Andrew Luck Pick” Belonging To The Vikings Is Back In Play

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: 6 Comments

Lost in the shuffle of the Vikings embarrassment to the New Orleans Saints is the fact the Indianapolis Colts defeated the Tennessee Titans to move to 1-13. The Colts record is still the worst in the NFL, however they now sit just one win behind (or ahead when talking draft order) of both the Vikings and the St Louis Rams when it comes to worst record in the NFL and securing the number one pick in the draft to take Stanford’s quarterback Andrew Luck. I know, I know… there’s plenty of pundits who will say the Vikings have too much [...]

Drew Brees Had a Historic Day Against the Vikings

AUTHOR: | IN: Gameday, Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

Drew Brees’ performance against the Vikings on Sunday wasn’t just brilliant, it was historically brilliant. According to the experts at NFL.com (via @DanBarreiroKFAN), Brees on Sunday became the first QB in NFL history with a game of 400+ yards, 5+ TDs and an 80%+ completion rate with no INTs. In other words, Brees’ gashing of the Vikings’ defense today was arguably the most incredible such mauling in the entire long and storied history of professional football. Was this amazing one-of-a-kind statistical performance more a reflection on Brees or the Vikings’ pass defense? You’ll have to decide that for yourself. I [...]

Chiefs End the Packers’ Dream of an Undefeated Season

AUTHOR: | IN: Gameday, Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Green Bay Packers are no longer undefeated after falling to the Kansas City Chiefs 19-14. Packer fans are no doubt disappointed that their dream of a perfect season has so cruelly fallen apart. In hopes of consoling them, allow me to point out this one fact: They’re still 13-1. Which is slightly better than 2-12. And they will still probably win the Super Bowl, unless Drew Brees and the Saints ambush them in the playoffs. If I had money to bet, I would still put it on the Packers to bring home the big prize. Winning every regular season [...]

Drew Brees and the Saints Crush the Hapless Vikings

AUTHOR: | IN: Gameday, Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Vikings have been competitive in most of their games this year. The three glaring exceptions have been the blow out losses to the Bears and Packers, and today’s game against the Saints. Everyone expected Drew Brees to shred the under-manned Vikings secondary and he didn’t disappoint. Brees finished with 412 yards and 5 TDs on 32-of-40 passing. Brees and the Saints’ offense vs. the Vikings looked like varsity vs. JV. Had Sean Payton not pulled Brees he probably could’ve challenged the all-time single-game passing record of 554 yards. But the Saints had no reason to leave Brees in – [...]

Saints Lead Vikings 21-13 At Half

AUTHOR: | IN: Gameday, Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Saints have outgained the Vikings 222-7 through the air through the first half. By that number you’d expect New Orleans to be up by at least three touchdowns but that’s not the case. Drew Brees and the Saints passing game have been brilliant as expected but the Saints have made just enough mistakes to keep the Vikings in it. A pair of fumbles, one on a botched snap, helped the Vikings score six points (they could’ve had more but broke down offensively before getting in the end zone). The Vikes got their TD after a hubristic Sean Payton went [...]

Saturday Night Live Made Fun of Tim Tebow (Video)

AUTHOR: | IN: Video, Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

Everyone involved in this sketch will be going to the h-place. Questioning whether Jesus actually helps Tim Tebow win football games? Outrageous. The whole thing is so offensive. Don’t those liberal elitists hold anything sacred? What a dumb question, of course they don’t. All they care about is thread counts and inventing new ways of making coffee not taste like coffee. BTW, nice socks on Sudeikis. Can you believe that dude nailed January Jones? Tebow ain’t the only one getting some help from the man upstairs, I can tell you that. (P.S. – It’s okay to laugh at the part [...]

March Of Futility: Vikings Vs. Saints

AUTHOR: | IN: Vikings | COMMENTS: None Yet

Drew Brees is not going to get 555 passing yards today, okay? So let’s just forget that crap right now. If I had to guess a number I’d go with 288 on the nose. That’s with 3 touchdowns. Add two long rushing touchdowns for Darren Sproles and you get 35 points. My final score prediction is 38-21. The Saints will get up big in the first half and the Vikings will chip away but never get back in the game. Adrian Peterson will end up with 70 yards on 14 carries. Christian Ponder will finish with 243 yards and 2 [...]
