Hall Of Fame Snubs Cris Carter. Again.

Brace Hemmelgarn-US PRESSWIRE

It was not unexpected, but it’s still disappointing to a lot of people. Once again the Hall of Fame committee has elected to snub Vikings great Cris Carter. I’m assuming Carter’s zip line incident played no part in his being left out for a fifth straight year…but you never know.

Seriously though, the Carter snubbing is getting old. He is without question one of the great wide receivers in NFL history. He was arguably one of the three best players at his position every year for the better part of a decade and has all-time-great career stats. And he did all this despite the Vikings changing quarterbacks more than Lady Gaga changes hairstyles. Some would make the “he was consistent but not necessarily great” argument with Carter but it doesn’t stick. Those of us who watched him week-after-week know he was great. He could do things with his hands and feet that normal people just can’t do.

Carter will probably get in eventually, just not this year. Better luck next year Cris.

Cris Carter being snubbed is just ridiculous. I would argue that he’s a top 5 receiver all time and yet he doesn’t receive any respect from the HOF media panel. The people who voted are lack common sense!
